It jumps like a surprise attack and preys on insects perched on trees, even though it’s not that good with preying on other fish. Being unable to handle the eccentricity of the attack, insects are beautifully preyed upon.

This fish is perpetually swimming to find its prey during its whole active time. Adult dorados are said to eat 3 kg of food every day, and they exceed 1m in size. It has the great agility and also the stamina like a great athlete.
Tucunare Azul

The greatest feature of this fish is its speed over short distance. The speed to chase in a short distance is unmatched when compared with other fish. It has a popular name as “Fireworks of the Amazon river” because it looks like a raging fire when changing its prey.
Pirarucu
– Arapaima gigas –
Pirarucu is the species that has been surviving for about 100 million years, with its armor-like skin and air-breathing ability. Because they have a very cautious nature, they bearly show themselves before humans. There’re some giant pirarucus sized over 2m hiding themselves in the Amazon river.
PIraiba
– Brachyplatystoma filamentosum –
It is said that in Brazil, once there were many piraibas that were as large as 4m, and those are respected among locals as the legendary catfish. Its streamlined body which is remincident of a shark provides itself an excellent swimming ability, and it swallows just about anything that touches its whiskers.
Pirarara
– Phractocephalus hemioliopterus –
It moves its whiskers like we move our hands to search for its prey. Once it touches a thing, it swallows it with a surprisingly quick move.
